It was Dennis who interviewed me when I decided to leave microbiology at Withington Hospital in Manchester. I was glad he decided to take on this very raw recruit! I shall never forget the encouragement Dennis gave to me as I progressed through the ranks of Oxoid.
 
Alison and I spent many happy times with Dennis and Sue at Sales meetings, often abroad ,where Dennis would spend the day finding a good restaurant while the rest of us checked out the local sites.
