I met both Dennis and Sue as long ago as the late 1960s in Southwark. How extraordinary, it was over fifty years ago and yet I remember the company in south east London as though it was yesterday. The company was in an old OXO factory, which had previously been a hospital. Dennis was very creative and always full of new ideas. I remember well when he decided that we would all benefit from drama lessons and arranged for us to attend a weekend course at a drama school in Guildford. Dennis’s sense of humour was such that for my final performance he thought it a good idea if I sang a duet with a Canadian guy, who was 6ft 5in and I am 6ft 2in; all very embarrassing.
